Questioni (poco) private" by Beatrice Venturato is an editorial design project developed as a degree project at Unibz, Bolzano.
The project takes celebrity journalism as its subject and analyzes its graphic and communicative language across three historical contexts: the United States in the 1920s and 30s, Italy during the economic boom, and the UK in the 1980s and 90s. The output is three prototype newspapers, each reinterpreting the visual codes of gossip media in its respective era.
The project sits between archival research and design practice, using the visual language of each era as both subject and material.
The three publication analysis share a broadsheet format mounted on a wooden stick with a ring binder, printed in black, red and white.
Each issue has its own typographic identity.
The US issue "Los Angeles Examiner" mixes condensed grotesque headlines with a custom display typeface rendered in red, set against dense multi-column body text.
The Italian issue, "Gente" ., uses a similar structure with a more fragmented layout and heavier use of archival pho-tography.
The UK issue, "Daily Mirror", leans on tabloid conventions: irregular grids, mixed typefaces across a single spre-ad, and headlines scaled aggressively across the page.
